Tap Take-Over - Ministry of Beer

Stein's Taphouse is holding an exclusive event on the Queen's Birthday weekend from Friday 9 June - Monday 12 June 2017 when 4 local breweries will 'take over' their beer taps.

To give you an insight into the breweries taking part, we will be sharing some background about them and their craft beers on offer over the weekend.

Ministry of Beer

Ministry of Beer is a family run brewery from their property at Rosedale, Barossa Valley. They grow and use their own Cascade Hops as well as other quality Australian and American Hops and mainly Australian Malt.

Head Brewer Brett Reimann says, "I have been a keen home brewer for the past 17 years and a little over 12 months ago we started Ministry of Beer. Having a small brewery means we can produce small batches of unique beers which change frequently."

Their three beers on offer at the Stein's Taphouse Beer Tap Take-Over will be The Instigator, The Whippersnapper and The Old Timer.

The Instigator
American IPA - 6% abv - 50 IBU
A West Coast American IPA packed with all Brett's favourite Australian and American Hops.

The Whippersnapper
Raspberry Berliner Wiesse - 4% abv - 6 IBU
A tart German style beer brewed with a high percentage of wheat which they put their own twist on to by adding a truckload of Australian grown raspberries.

The Old Timer
Belgian Sour - 6.4% abv
A mixed fermentation including brettanomyces and lactobacillus which adds sourness and complexity to the Belgian style beer.

Lock a time in your diary to come down to Stein's on the June long weekend to sample some of the fantastic fruits of local brewers labor.
